The summer season starts with the mountain biking Free Ride Tour, a national competition where teams of 2 compete against each other in timed races and the Street VTT. This competition is open to all and it will take place ... on the village streets!
The villages of La Clusaz, Le Grand-Bornand, Manigod and Saint Jean de Sixt all come together to promote the wide range of outdoor activities the Aravis has to offer. Each village focuses on an activity that the public are free to try. Classical music, modern dance, sound and light show and mountain bike show will be other highlights of this family oriented festival.
La Clusaz's renowned road cycling race! The race starts in the resort centre and finishes at the top of les Confins: 6.2 kms over a climb of 392 metres!
A weekend of games, entertainment, activities and shows especially aimed at children. Throughout the two days you will discover traditional dances while enjoying the giant tartiflette (local cheese and potato speciality) and wandering through the stands. In the evening soak up the atmosphere of the village with music, refreshments and coloured garlands.
A day to celebrate the craftsmen and farmers of the region with a parade of floats, re-enacted scenes through "tableaux vivants", activities, bread making, and folk dances... and our famous Reblochon cheese, made late in the afternoon in a huge copper cauldron and eaten freshly moulded. Almost 10 000 spectators come every year to the green pastures of the Bossonnet to recapture some of the spirit of the olden days and to taste many Savoyard specialties.
This is the first of the autumn fairs and it is held in the Thônes district. It brings together the best "Abondance" cows that aspire to the highest distinctions. It also hosts the best Reblochon contest. Mountain farmers, shepherds and goat herders all get together to celebrate the end of summer and the return of the herds and flocks to the village. Enjoy the parade of animals, the contests and an evening with the farmers.
