The Aravis mountain range sits in the Haute Savoie department of France.
The surrounding roads and huge mountain cols attract keen road cyclists
wishing to conquer the climbs and passes which provide the drama for the
Tour de France, as well as groups of recreational road bikers looking to
enjoy the charming villages and stunning views which make-up the backdrop
to the Tour. Famous cols in the area available for you to climb are the
Col de Colombiere, Col des Aravis, Col de Serraval and Col de la Forclaz
- all of which have been made famous by the Tour de France over recent years.
We have a wide selection of road biking routes starting and finishing at the door of the Aravis Lodge. Each alpine ride heads off in a different direction, allowing you to experience the wide range of mountain climbs, steep windy descents and immense cols the area has to offer. Each of our road cycling routes has variations to enable you to match the level of difficulty of the ride to your needs. As well as the famous cols you can take it a bit easier on one of your days by heading down to Annecy over the Col de la Croix Fry and then cycling around the large lake Annecy- a circumference of approximately 27 kilometres.
As with the Mountain biking, minibus support is available - we can drop
you off or turn up at pre arranged spots for a welcome refreshment break,
or to pick you up if your legs just can’t take any more pedaling! A beautiful
area, the Aravis mountain road cycling is definitely worth experiencing
if you are a road biking fan - come and challenge yourself with us.
