Road Biking Weekend Package

We have a wide range of road cycling routes starting and finishing at the door of the Aravis Lodge. However if your group have a particular Col or climb to conquer, our minibuses are available to drop you off, pick you up and provide support for your day’s cycling.

Thursday evening to Monday evening: 4 full days cycling, with just 2 days off work

Thursday

Early morning bike ride in the SummerCatch a flight of your choice arriving into Geneva airport on Thursday evening. We’ll meet you in our minibuses which have plenty of room for luggage and your bike if you’d like to bring it. On your arrival back at the lodge (a journey of under an hour) we’ll provide dinner and have a chat about your requirements for the weekend, before opening the bar for a few pre-bed drinks if you wish.

Friday

Why not start with a fairly gentle circuit for your first day – perhaps ride down to Lake Annecy (20km), enjoy a lakeside ride (the lake has a 27km circumference) before returning to the Lodge via Thônes. We will agree the transport support arrangements with you and check you have everything you need before you start.

Afternoon tea will be waiting for you to enjoy on your return with fresh bread and cakes. Later, a quick drink in our bar could precede the delicious 3-course dinner with wine.

Saturday

Maybe a day for some of the Cols made famous by the Tour de France – Col des Aravis or Col de Colombiere for instance. Stop at one of the traditional mountain restaurants for lunch and take in the fantastic alpine scenery.

Road biking in the Aravis A sauna back at the Lodge will probably be welcome at the end of a long day and then maybe a pre-dinner drink on the sun terrace watching the sun set over the mountains before enjoying dinner with wine - maybe in the form of a bbq if the weather is good. See our photo pages for pictures of the stunning scenery you could enjoy.

Sunday

Take our route guides and maps and discover some more challenging Cols – maybe ‘smugglers pass’ - the Col de Contrabandiers climbing between Thones valley and Annecy. We’ll be out in our support vehicle to ensure you keep your water levels topped up during your rides.

When you've had enough for one day, why not challenge your friends to some luge runs - summer sledging open in July and August - or if the weather isn't so good you may like to finish your afternoon with a drink or two in one of the villages' wood-clad bars before heading back in time for dinner.

Monday

Ride all day or choose a shorter circular route if you’re a bit short of time, or if you prefer why not spend a gentler day walking some of the tracks in the area and view the mountains from a slightly different perspective. Alternatively visit the bustling market in La Clusaz to buy some local produce to take home with you. Return to the lodge for a quick afternoon tea, then shower and change in your room before we transport you back to Geneva for your evening flights back to the UK.

Throughout the summer and autumn biking season we are open to groups, couples, singles or solos/individuals.
