Triathlon Training Camp with Nick Busca – Northern French Alps
Sunday 16th – Saturday 22nd or Wednesday 19th – Saturday 22nd June 2019
In association with Nick Busca, of CORE Ski and Triathlon Academy, we are pleased to offer a choice between a special 3-day or 6-day triathlon training camp, based in the heart of the Aravis mountains and Annecy.
This Bike Weekender break in the Northern French Alps offers you superb cycling, running and open-air swimming in stunning scenery, and offers the perfect base to relax and unwind after a day of pushing your limits.
This trip would be an incredible opportunity to build your fitness, receive personal coaching and training, as well as improve your climbing and bike-handling skills on some iconic climbs made famous by the Tour de France – all with a highly experienced and well-qualified coach who is passionate about helping you to achieve your athletic potential.
Hopefully you will be inspired by the beauty, freedom and feelings of exhilaration when training in the big mountains, and the huge sense of satisfaction you will feel at the end of each day’s achievements.
This is both a physical and mental challenge, that can help you to build inner belief and confidence, in your ability as a triathlete and in yourself.
Our Dedicated Cycling Base – Lake Annecy / Aravis Mountains
Our base for your Lake Annecy – Aravis trip is the Aravis Lodge, in Saint Jean de Sixt: the home of Bike Weekender. A charming Alpine farming village in the heart of the Aravis Mountains, its location ensures varied training is possible with minimal hassle, all week long.
It’s a sociable chalet-hotel, offering great food, on-site bike hire and a high level of personal service from our resident team, helping to make this a trip to remember for a long time to come.
Who is the Triathlon Training Camp For?
This camp is conceived and tailored to athletes with proven experience in the three disciplines.
Therefore it would most suit intermediate and advanced athletes looking for the physiological benefits and the physical/mental challenges of training at high altitude, and as part of a group.
Depending on each individual’s race season and goals, single sessions can be tailored and planned accordingly. Then when training as a group, there is still room for each athlete to customise their activity somewhat to meet their personal objectives.
The beauty of the region, and the immense potential of the outdoor playground made up of Lake Annecy and the surrounding mountains, will make the camp unique and unforgettable!

About Nick Busca, of CORE Ski and Triathlon Academy
As a triathlon coach, personal trainer and ski instructor, Nick also coaches athletes 1-2-1 for long distance triathlons, particularly half and full Ironman.
He still races himself and has represented Team GB twice at the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships (2016 and 2017).
Nick recently qualified for the 2018’s ETU Middle Distance European Championships.
Coaching Philosophy
As a coach Nick uses an athlete-centered approach and all of his programmes are specific and tailored to the athlete’s specific needs and goals.
He believes that a coach must be flexible and adapt to the unique human being he or she is working with in order to unlock their true potential.
In his coaching methodology, Nick tends also to give the same importance and stress to the four main areas of triathlon training: endurance training, strength and conditioning, nutrition and rest and recovery.
He is currently undertaking the British Triathlon Level 3 coaching course for High Performing Coach Programme under the mentoring of Dan Lorang — coach of pro cycling team BORA-hansgrohe and personal coach of 2 x Ironman World Champion Jan Frodeno (2015 and 2016) and Anne Haug (3th in Kona in 2018). He already completed the Level 1 and 2, on top of the Ironman coaching certification, the Training Peaks online course and the Level 3 in Personal Training.
Nick is really excited about hosting the Triathlon Training Camp in the French Alps, in conjunction with Bike Weekender, and he hopes you can join us!
