Pointe Percée 2 Star Traditional Hotel le Grand Bornand France
A traditional Sayoyard hotel right in the heart of the charming village of Le Grand Bornand, Hotel La Pointe Percée is a 20 bedroom hotel with fantastic mountain views, which is conveniently positioned for easy access to the village and everything the resort has to offer.

Pointe Percée Summer View
It offers a comfortable quality of rooms and accommodation with a superb, friendly service – and provides a fantastic value-for-money option.

You will find Claudette and her team very warm, friendly and accommodating, and she is always on hand to answer questions or offer advice.

She has become a firm favourite amongst our guests and can’t do enough for you.

In terms of the cycling, Hotel la Pointe Percée is a great base to access rides of differing levels of ability from right outside the door, in the heart of the mountains.

Though if you’re looking to bag some cols frequently used in the Alpine stages of the Tour de France, Le Grand Bornand is half-way between both Col de la Colombière and Col des Aravis, and the views at the top of each are well worth the effort!

All-in-all it is a great location for both our Lite and Classic cycling weekend breaks in the Northern French Alps.

Hotel Pointe Percee

Hotel La Pointe Percée – Rooms

The hotel has 20 ensuite bedrooms which are decorated in a traditional cosy Savoyarde style. Some have south facing balconies looking over the village centre and Aravis mountain range. This hotel is good for solo travellers, as there are a small number of rooms which can be booked without a single supplement, subject to availability. Please enquire for more details.

As is the norm, check out is on the morning of departure, but this hotel provides you with a recently renovated shower and changing room which you can use on departure day. This gives you the opportunity to ride/explore all day and leave for the airport feeling refreshed.

Hotel La Pointe Percée – Social Facilities

Whilst lacking a cosy lounge, the location of this hotel provides you with everything the village has to offer on your doorstep. Very close by you will find a number of bars – including the favourite Deux Guides complete with pool tables. There are several restaurants, bars and shops surrounding the hotel, including a couple of great bakeries as well as a small supermarket.

Hotel La Pointe Percée – Food

The buffet breakfast is taken in the hotel dining room, whilst the restaurant is downstairs for dinner. Each evening you can enjoy a menu that includes local specialities. A carafe of wine is included with the evening meal.

Hotel La Pointe Percée – Location & Cycling Access

The hotel is located in the heart of the picturesque village of Le Grand Bornand, just an hour’s airport transfer from Geneva.

There are several restaurants, bars, newsagents, ATMs, post office, mini supermarkets, bakeries, ski/outdoor gear and gift shops very close to the Hotel. Directly across the square is the Tourist Office, where you can find more information on what is happening in the village and surrounding area.

Although there are several fantastic rides direct from the hotel’s door, in July and August there are also shuttle buses that run between Le Grand Bornand and the slightly larger resort of La Clusaz (just 10 minutes away), as well as access to other small outlying villages, from which you can start your rides. Or maybe hop on the bus back if you want an easy ride home.

Most of the buses take bikes, but do check in advance. The bus is free with the local Guest Card which we can provide if required, which also gives you discounts on other activities in the area.

Bike Hire

Bikes are available to hire locally if you wish.
